Weekend Timewasters

Some good stuff came across the Twitterverse this week:

Ted put up some GoPro footage that he shot while training slalom: "taken from a go pro mounted on broken gates duct taped to a back pack."  Can it be the first of its kind?  Probably not, but it's the first we've seen and it seems like a cool idea.

Speaking of GoPro, Laurenne Ross put together a fun video from the Ski Team camp in Portillo and Valle Nevado. That time lapse of the round pool that's shot from above? That's the hot tub/pool thing at Valle Nevado. I personally witnessed two people fornicating in that pool a couple years ago, so I don't go in there anymore. I think they were Canadian. Canadian regional team fornicators: You know who you are, and you've ruined that pool for me forever. Anyway, where was I? Oh right. US Women's Chile Camp:

And last but not least, Canadian Ski Team member Kelly VanderBeek put together this "Chile 2011 - Behind the Scenes" video. I watched it first in a library with the sound off, and I was blown away by how well shot and well edited the video is. In my mind, the soundtrack was some really awesome, totally out-there ambient-techno-dub-step-hip-hop-remix thing and I was totally into it. I don't know.  Later, I watched it with the sound on, and, well... it's Lady Antebellum. Still good, just a lot sappier:

Now go do something useful.

  3. Ted's run looks like a video game--complete with head movements. Must be cause of the tiny time delay.... Hilarious.
