Run of the Day: Name That Skier

If you needed proof that Hard Snow is as good as American Idol, now it's your turn to participate.  Today's ROTD is a video that we came upon through Laurenne Ross' YouTube channel, after SkiRacing.com linked to another video in their fabulous online edition.

Seriously.  That's what happened.  Not a stalker.

Back to the story.  Identify whoever it is shredding between 0:50 and 1:25.  We think Julia Ford.  You?

What makes this video great is not only the fun footage, but the fact that it shows so much of the context of what makes Laurenne successful.  Ask yourself, do you shred this hard or are you too wound up about holding your hands and driving your knees just-so to slarc the crap out of some soft snow?  When you're in the van, are you paying attention and enjoying the ride, or are you sitting in the back and farting in your sleep?  When you ride the lift, what in god's name are you thinking about, and are you noticing anything that's happening around you?

Part of the point is that there are too many robots in our midst.  Too many lemmings.  Let's not forget to look around and appreciate the forest for the trees.  This sport is both beautiful in its execution and amazing in its sensation, and yet those two fundamental pieces of perfection are consistently lost on most of us.
