Knowing What You Got Before It's Gone

When they give you the un-gettable World Cup skis, and you know you're only going to get that one pair no matter what, you go to great lengths to protect them.  In this case, Charles Christianson uses tip protectors from Head skis and some little pieces of metal riveted to the skis by Nordica USA to protect the somewhat delicate tips on his nearly one-of-a-kind Nordica SL skis.  Looks good, I guess?  Meh, whatever works.
