Nolan Kasper, one of the nicest guys you'll meet anywhere, is impressive. We all know he's been an up-and-coming Slalom skier over the years. What we may not have known is his potential to menace the Europeans in GS too. Look out, World!
As an aside, let's hand Charles Christianson some kind of award for being the only other American to finish two runs in the accompanying Slalom (which Nolan won.) 9 Americans started the race, and only 2 finished. Granted, there was pretty incredible carnage across the board on the first run, but going 2/9 isn't that uncommon for the younger North American crowd in Europa Cups. Contrast that to the same group going, say, 5/6 in Nor-Ams and you have to wonder what the deal is.
